Home Search & Showings

The home search is a "team sport" in which the buyer and real estate agent both have key responsibilities.  Above all else, communication, communication, communication!

Before the agent can begin a search for potential properties to see, the buyer must communicate as clearly and comprehensively as possible what they are looking for in a home--price range (based on a mortgage pre-approval with your lender), area, size, age, amenities, schools, public services....ALL are details specific to the buyer that when communicated clearly to the agent, are invaluable in searching for and ultimately, purchasing the "perfect home"!

As the buyer selects properties that they are interested in seeing, the agent will make showing arrangements, based on mutually agreeable times.  It is important to note that in most instances, sellers and their agents may require at least 24 hours advance notice.  First showings are best when just the buyers and their agents attend, but some sellers prefer that their own agents be present for all showings.  If this is the case, buyers are well-advised to refrain from any discussion regarding their personal details, such as reason for moving/buying, urgency and of course, personal finances.
